WHEN DOES MY PUPPY COME HOME?
Puppies thrive when they have a strong and healthy bond with their mother. This is why we won't let puppies go home before 8 weeks of age. If a prolonged pickup is needed, please call or message with further detail.
DO YOU OFFER SHIPPING?
Shipping will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Owners will be responsible for all flight and transportation expenses.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BUY TO PREPARE FOR MY PUPPIES HOMECOMING
Make sure your home is set up to have a puppy added to the mix. A puppy is muchh like a baby, whatever is on the ground will go in their mouth. Also, please refer to my NEW PUPPY SHOPPING LIST under the info tab for my recommendations on what to purchase before your new puppy comes home.
WHAT IF THE PUPPY I WANT HAS ALREADY BEEN PICKED?
If your deposit was further down the list and the only puppy available to choose from is not to your liking, then we can move your deposit to the next litter. Moving your deposit to the next litter will ensure a top pick as long as you were the first to transfer your deposit.
IS MY DEPOSIT REFUNDABLE?
Deposits are nonrefundable per the contract. However, deposits can be transferred to the next litter if, for some reason, you are unable to take puppy home, or you are not happy with the remaining puppies when it is your turn to choose.
WHEN DO I GET TO PICK OUT MY PUPPY?
“Puppy pick day” will be between 6 and 7 weeks. We want all owners to get a good feel for the puppy's personality and temperament before they choose their puppy, this is why we wait so long for “pick day”. Mother of Doodles has the right to keep a puppy anytime before six weeks of age.
WHAT IF I AM NO LONGER ABLE TO TAKE CARE OF MY PUPPY?
If, for any reason, you are no longer able to take care of your puppy, we want you to reach out to us. We will work together to make a plan for the future of the dog. It is important to Mother of Doodles that every one of our puppies ends up in loving and happy home, that is why we must be involved if any rehousing becomes necessary.
DO YOU ALLOW VISITATION BEFORE PICK UP DAY?
Due to the current global health circumstances, we are limiting visits to our home. We will ramp up our weekly updates and send plenty of pictures and videos to make up for this inconvenience. If you are in the area, we will allow a visit during week six for “pick day”. We will take the proper steps to ensure the health of our puppies by requiring handwashing and shoes off. Puppies are very vulnerable to illness and we take their health and safety seriously. NO EXCEPTIONS. Thank you for your understanding.
HOW MUCH GROOMING DO DOODLES REQUIRE?
Doodles require constant grooming, but the results make it all worth it. If you keep your doodle's hair long, then they will require daily brushing. However, if you keep their hair short you will spend less time brushing and more time cuddling! Long-haired doodles tend to matte up, but a good brushing schedule will limit their matting. We recommend taking your doodle into the groomers once every two months.
WILL MY DOG SHED/BE HYPOALLERGENIC?
Doodles that are F1b generation or further are less likely to have shedding. All dogs will shed to a certain degree. The more poodle in their genes, the less likely they will shed. Whether or not doodles are hypoallergenic or not is dependant on the type of allergen you are allergic to. People with allergies to dander can still have allergic reactions to doodles. Those who have more of a reaction to fur might find that a doodle is the best option. However, if you are allergic to dog saliva or urine, then doodles are still not the right pet for you.
HOW DOES PAYMENT WORK?
Payments for deposits will be taken electronically via PayPal or Venmo. The remainder of the total cost of your puppy will be due on or before the day of pick up at 8 weeks. Cash or electronic payment will be accepted for the final payment.
WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY AND I AM NO LONGER ABLE TO TAKE HOME THE PUPPY THAT I PLACED A DEPOSIT ON?
If for any reason you are no longer able to take your puppy home your deposit will be moved to the next litter or held for or a future litter when you are ready. Per the contract, deposits are nonrefundable.
